In honor of Valentine’s Day, I’m putting up this post on a couple that truly proves that love conquers all. Love is not held to ideals, societal norms, or laws. You love who you love. I’m not going to get on a soapbox about it, but believe that every couple (and individual) deserves equal rights. Gay marriage is a hot topic these days, as are so many other things in the world. To me, the idea of two people being in love is a simple one, and one that should not be prejudiced against in any law. I was honored to be asked to photograph Lynn & Dale at their wedding reception. They’ve been together for 17 years, which is two years longer than the average marriage lasts in the United States. Lynn proposed to Dale on June 26, 2015, the day same-sex marriage was legalized in the U.S. Their love story goes far beyond gay marriage rights and equality. These two women bring so much joy to those around them, and are an inspiration for couples everywhere.
