Brothers & sisters are as close as hands and feet.

The bond between siblings is often a complicated but rewarding one. I guess I should know. I have 2 full brothers, 3 half brothers, 2 step brothers, and 2 step sisters. So in many ways, yes, I think have a good feel on the many dynamics that exist between siblings. I am the oldest of all my brothers from both of my parents’ marriages. I don’t have any sisters by blood, but being the only girl of 5 brothers gave me a certain insight into how boys can be. (Think: rough and tumble) There’s something REALLY cool about being a big sister, and something oddly satisfying knowing that you’re the eldest sibling. You get to “show” them things as a big sister. You become an example for them, and often become the guinea pig for your own parents on how to do it right. (Here’s a hint: there is no one “right” way….or at least that is what I’m learning as a parent myself).
Having siblings means not only sharing space and toys, but sharing parents affection and time. It means shared responsibilities, and shared moments. And more importantly than anything else, it means sharing love and life lessons.
Stephanie & Daniel recently welcomed a new baby boy, Alexander, into their home, and Arianna, their oldest child, is a new big sister at 3 years old. She is so loving and sweet with him! It was so awesome to see how much Daniel & Stephanie love their two little ones. They all have a very special bond, and Arianna is clearly a natural at being a big sister!
We popped down to a beautiful spot called Seminole Rest in Oak Hill, Florida. The natural beauty of this area is outstanding, and a great park to get away from the hustle and bustle. I highly recommend it for picnicking or just to take a stroll around some nature and historic sites. Here are some of the shots we got while walking around.
Here’s to siblings and their unbroken bonds!
Cheers,
